Richard K. Pino, MAIRichard K. Pino, MAI is a managing partner with Petersen LaChance Regan Pino, LLC (PLRP, LLC), a Boston-based service real estate firm founded in 2011.  Mr. Pino is a certified real estate appraiser and licensed broker.  He contributes to all of the firm's areas of service; however, his primary focus is in valuation, consulting and real estate education.

Mr. Pino has been involved in real estate for over thirty years, providing a variety of services to corporate, private and public clients.  From 1984 to the creation of PLRP, LLC, Mr. Pino has been associated with some of Boston's premier full service real estate firms.  Prior to 1984, he was involved with the development, construction, sales, leasing, management and appraisal of residential and commercial real estate as an independent contractor and in his family's businesses.

Mr. Pino has been engaged in over 800 valuation assignments, involving over 27 million square feet of commercial / industrial space, 6,000 residential units, 15,000 acres of land, 800 takings and  50 miles of corridor and right of ways. Assignments have included residential, commercial, industrial, mixed-use, vacant land and special use properties.

Consulting services are a comprehensive approach to real estate issues, encompassing all the real estate disciplines.  Mr. Pino's multi-disciplined background provides him with a diversity of insight into today's real estate issues.  He has provided sound real estate financial and document specific advice including recommendations concerning environmental issues, legal concerns, local and state considerations, tax implications, as well as property specific matters. 

Mr. Pino has provided instruction on a number of appraisal and valuation topics for various professional organizations.  Topics have included property valuation, partial acquisition valuation, easement valuation, corridor valuation, the valuation of properties impacted by environmental contamination and eminent domain valuation in the New England states.  He is an International Right of Way Association (IRWA) certified education instructor for various appraisal courses. As a valuation subject matter expert for the IRWA, Mr. Pino has also been involved with developing an educational training program product.

Richard K. Pino, MAI holds memberships the Appraisal Institute (AI) and the IRWA. AI is a 22,000 member organization of real estate valuation professionals.  Mr. Pino is a designated MAI Member of AI and has been associated with the organization since 1984. 

The IRWA is a 10,000 member organization of right of way professionals.  Mr. Pino has been a member of IRWA since 1988 and is currently pursuing the SR/WA designation.  Mr. Pino has served as a chapter officer, regional officer and member of the organization’s International Governing Council. He continues to serve in its International Valuation Community of Practice and as the Chair of IRWA’s New England Chapter 16 Valuation Committee.

Richard Pino has served on Real Estate Review and Appraisal Review Boards of the Massachusetts Highway Department and Department of Transportation from 2002.  The primary function of the REARB is to hear cases regarding eminent domain acquisitions of real property interest with a value in excess of $300,000.
